![]() The area that I'm having trouble with is the ahk portion. There are three ahk downloads on the Hyperlist page with various versions. I'm using MAMEUIFX32 0.148 as my emulator. The versions listed on the Hyperlist page are versions .140+ and .143. Does this mean that my emulator is incompatible with these ahk files? I've tried downloading both. .140+ states Mame error - Mame error: .143 looks like it might be working and states: Error call to nonexistent function specifically FadeInStart() then it points to line#10: GUI_ID FadeInStart(). Anyway I put the .143 version in my modules folder. I figured I'd give it a shot. When I run Hyperlaunch and test a rom that works on my emulator the error message comes up and states that the target label does not exist and points to 057: hotkey, esc, closeprocess. Setup Hyperspin Mame And Hyper Launch 3dSetup Hyperspin Mame And Hyper Launch 3I tried in vain to figure out the problem (I'm not the greatest with computers) so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out a little. Thanks.

MAME
Difficulty: 3/5 Ah MAME, the wheel that I built first. I first found out that the MAME rom sets have a version number that they match so I needed to find a new set of roms to match my version of MAME (158). Not only that, but the roms need to be a specific set of roms called 'nointro' so that they will match the xml file from Hyperlist. This is the case for NES, SNES and Genesis too. I found the 158 set of roms and made sure they were the 'nointro' set. Once I got the proper roms I was pretty much good to go.
3DO
Difficulty: 3/5 The 3DO was a tricky one to setup. I ended up using the 4DO emulator, but the problem was that it didn't load bin/cue only iso/cue. This meant I needed to track down the isos of the 3DO games that I had that were bin/cue. I ended up finding out there is a set called TOSEC and that's what you need for proper 3DO Hyperspin setup. Once I got ahold of that, I needed to unzip all of them into a isos folder for 3DO. Thing that sucked about that was that there were some that had iso files in there that were named 'track1.iso' and I was forced to rename those to the proper title (listed in the xml file). Then I had to edit the cue files of each of these so that they pointed to the proper iso name instead of 'track1.iso'. Time consuming stuff but finally got them all named properly and 4DO launched them perfectly. Three more critical things of note: -If your bios file is called fz10_rom.bin, rename it to fz10.rom, it should be placed in the same dir as the emu exe. On first launch, FourDO will ask you to point it to the fz10.rom. After you do that, exit the emu and select a game in HS and it should work. -'After Startup, Open Last game' option must be enabled, otherwise you will only get the BIOS screen.
Genesis
Difficulty: 1/5 Genesis was super easy to setup. I used Fusion as the emulator and it was a piece of cake to set that up in HyperlaunchHQ. The only time consuming thing here (as with every system) was finding the nointro rom set and then renaming videos and wheel images to match the xml file.
NES
Difficulty: 1/5 The only issue I had setting up NES were some nointro rom name mismatches with the xml file. For instance my Wizards and Warriors 2 rom was named 'Ironsword - Wizards and Warriors 2' and the xml file had it listed as 'Wizards and Warriors 2 -Ironsword' so I had to rename the rom. Emulator used is Nestopia.
SNES
Difficulty: 2/5 SNES set up sucked at first. For some reason I couldn't get ZNES to launch games through Hyperlaunch. I decided to just use a different emulator and decided on SNES9x which worked beautifully. After that I just needed to match my videos and wheel images to the xml and I was good to go.
N64
Difficulty: 5/5 I think N64 was probably the hardest to set up. I tried and tried to get Project64 to work in Hyperspin, but I ran into a ton of issues. Also apparently you need to get the outdated 1.6 version and then manually update it to 1.6.1 but I could never get this to work. The 1964 emulator didn't launch games either. I kept hearing about an emulator called 'RetroArch' but after hours of trying to get this setup I completely gave up on RetroArch and I never want to hear about it again! Finally I found an emulator called Mupen64plus and it worked great! I have heard compatibility isn't as good as project64 but at this point I am so done trying to get this setup that this is plenty good enough for me for now. Also of note, I needed to unzip all my n64 roms because I believe Mupen64plus will only launch .n64 files.
Saturn
Difficulty: 2/5 Saturn wasn't really all that hard to setup, but I spent a long time (in vain) to get filters to work with SSF (the emulator.) I was unable to get any filters installed because they always crashed the emulator at launch. No biggie, I can deal. I did have to spend a lot of time renaming the games to match the xml and sometimes I needed to modify the cue files too as with the 3DO.
Dreamcast
Difficulty: 2/5 I heard great things about NullDC, but my Dreamcast files were all in the .cdi format and those won't launch in NullDC. Found out that Demul had no problem with .cdis so Demul it is! A bit time consuming renaming the cdi files to match the roms but other than that it was pretty easy setup.
PSP
Difficulty: 1/5 The PSP was a breeze. PSPPP is a great emulator and there wasn't anything I needed to do other than match my rom, video and wheel image names to the xml. Setup Hyperspin Mame And Hyper Launch 3 Free
Playstation
Difficulty: 1/5 Playstation setup was made easy by the ePSXe emulator. It will play PSX games in pretty much any format you get them in so that's very nice.
Other notes and tips:
-If your wheel images or videos are not showing up, you need to make sure the wheel image or video name matches the game name in the xml file EXACTLY. I'm not kidding here - if the xml name is 'Sonic The Hedgehog (USA)' and your wheel image name is 'Sonic the Hedgehog (USA)' the wheel image will not display because of the lower case 't'.
-I HIGHLY recommend getting at least a 1 month subscription to Emumovies.com for $20. This is because you'll get access to their FTP for easy downloads of all the game preview videos you need. You don't get access to themes or proper wheel images like you do if you subscribe to Hyperspin (for $45) but you do get title screen images for all the games and trust me you can use those as the wheel images just fine. In fact for PSX I have all my wheel images as the title screens because the PSX wheel images are incomplete still on the Hyperspin FTP.
Hyperspin Setup Guide
-Personally I don't use themes for the individual games because I find it distracting. I like being able to easily see the wheel at all times when I'm browsing for a game. The only themes I have and enjoy are the default (free) system themes that come with Hyperspin.
-Find a zip file with all the system XMLs and put it somewhere easy-to-access. If you mess up when you're modifying your xml file for the system you can always open up the default one and use that to fix your mistake. As you add new games to your system you can easily just copy the game's xml data from the default xml into your modified xml.
-When adding a new system in HyperHQ via the Main Menu Wizard, first have a look in the HyperSpinMediaMain MenuImagesWheel folder and find the system name of the system you're going to add. Name your system exactly like the wheel image is named. This way Hyperspin will make sure your new system has the default theme for the system all setup automagically.
-If you're having some trouble, search for a youtube video regarding the system you're setting up (for example search 'Hyperspin MAME setup'). There are lots of helpful videos out there. The most helpful video I found when I was just starting out is this one here.
